Oh yes. This is a question i’ve been wondering about for a while. Yes, theres a big hype about ninja’s and pirates among the youth today. Wow i feel old saying that.
Pirate – the definition:
1. robber at sea: a robber who operates from a ship on the sea
2. ship used by sea robbers: a ship used by people who rob or otherwise attack shipping on the high seas
3. somebody using copyright material without permission: somebody who duplicates or uses copyright or patented material illegally or without authorization
4. somebody involved in illegal broadcasting: somebody who takes part in or manages the unauthorized or illegal broadcasting of TV or radio programmesEncarta ® World English Dictionary © & (P) 1998-2005 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
So, pirates seem pretty negative. I wonder why kids find them so cool? Maybe its because of films such as POTC, etc. portraying them as funny and pretty harmless, and ultimately fighting for the good of others – but more likely themselves.
Piracy has been the death of many many people. It just makes me wonder. Why do people think they’re so cool? One of the only reasons i could think of is that they are a symbol to people to defy the normal.
Now ninja’s are an easier one to work out why people like them so much.
mercenary in feudal Japan: a member of a group of mercenaries in feudal Japan who were trained in stealth and the martial arts and employed as spies, saboteurs, or assassins

So, ninja’s are pretty cool. But from that, we can see that they were nothing better than hired mercenaries, although their level of skill was extraordinary. Also shows such as TMNT show them as pretty harmless – but also a force to be reckoned with.
I think, that neither are particularly awesome, and the dictionary definition kind of speaks for itself seens as its almost midnight and i really cant be bothered to get epic here :*
